Diplina

Habit tracker · Android & iOS

Your habits never
leave your phone.
Check for yourself.

Diplina is a habit tracker for Android and iPhone that keeps all data on the phone, with no account, no servers and no subscription. You don't have to take that on faith — its own Android manifest asks for no internet permission, and a test fails the build if that ever changes.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. See the proof Free to use. Pro is one purchase, never a subscription.
Diplina's Today screen: a progress ring showing 3 of 5 habits done, and a half-marathon goal with its morning run ticked off.
Today — one ring, one glance
A goal with its habit ticked off, then habit rows with streaks and a week of dots each: Meditate on 14 days, Lights out with its grace day used, Drink water at 5 glasses, Read on 26 days, and a Vitamins reminder struck through.
A missed day dents a streak — it doesn't end it
Statistics: 3 of 5 done today, a 77 percent thirty-day rate, a 26-day streak, 75 days tracked, 287 check-offs and September's streak calendar.
Statistics — counted, not estimated

The proof

Privacy you can verify, not just read.

These are the three places Diplina's privacy is enforced — and they're checkable by anyone who downloads the app.

AndroidManifest.xmlevery permission Diplina declares
<!-- Diplina's own manifest, in full. All five are local: wake up, ring, buzz. -->
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.USE_EXACT_ALARM"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS"/>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.VIBRATE"/>

<!-- And two that libraries tried to add, taken back out: -->
<uses-permission android:name="…ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" tools:node="remove"/>
<uses-permission android:name="…FOREGROUND_SERVICE"    tools:node="remove"/>
AndroidManifest.xmlyour data is excluded from OS backups
<application android:allowBackup="false" … />

<!-- on iOS the same guarantee is a per-file attribute, re-applied
     after every write, and read back to confirm it stuck. -->
PrivacyInvariantsTest.ktthe build fails if any of it regresses
// Asserted on every build — not documented and hoped for.
assertThat(manifest).doesNotContain("android.permission.INTERNET")
assertThat(manifest).contains("android:allowBackup=\"false\"")

// No analytics, crash reporting or ad SDK may enter the build:
blocked = ["firebase", "crashlytics", "analytics", "admob", "appsflyer", …]

// Pro is a one-time purchase. A subscription cannot compile:
assertThat(kotlinSources).doesNotContain("ProductType.SUBS")
→ Diplina itself never declares internet access. The only parts that reach the network are the stores' own: on Android, Google Play's billing library for the one-time Pro purchase and Play's in-app update check, which asks the Play Store app on your phone whether a newer version exists; on iOS, Apple's StoreKit. Both are the same code Apple and Google ship to every app. That is also why the permission list on the Play listing is longer than the five above: the billing library contributes INTERNET, and AndroidX adds USE_BIOMETRIC for the optional app lock and WAKE_LOCK for background work. Nothing Diplina writes — habits, notes, attachments — is sent anywhere. Moving to a new phone is your own export file, which is why the app nudges you to make one.

What it does

Enough structure to be useful. Not enough to become a chore.

Everything here works without paying, unless it carries a Pro tag.

Habits that fit real weeks

Daily, weekdays, a number of times per week, or every N days. Several check-offs a day when one isn't the point. A weekly habit counts as done once the week's quota is met.

Reminders you can just tick off

Some things are a nudge, not a habit. Pay the rent, call your mother. Tick it and it strikes through — no streak, no score.

Goals with the habits underneath

Name the goal; the starter habits come with it, and you can decline them. Progress rolls up from what you actually did.

Spaces that keep work out of home Pro

Separate sets of habits, goals and notes. The calendar can show one space or all of them.

Statistics that reward a look

A live ring for today, a streak calendar, the thirty-day rate and milestones. Pro adds best streaks, habit strength, a history heat-map and Year in Pixels.

Your data, exportable

JSON backup and restore, plus optional automatic backups to a folder you pick — all free. CSV export for spreadsheets is Pro. Coming from another app? Import its CSV and your history comes with you. Nothing is uploaded.

Why "Diplina"

di·sci·plina

From the Latin for discipline — training, steady practice, the thing that makes a habit hold. Shortened just far enough to be its own word, and close enough that most people hear the meaning before anyone explains it.

Discipline, not motivation. Motivation is what you feel on day one; discipline is the quiet part that gets you to day two hundred. The app is built for the second one.
